Happy Independence Day America!

4th of July. Independence Day for the United States of America.  I have been at camp during this holiday for the past 6 years.  And, of course I was there again this year!
I enjoyed being festive this time around...we don't always have much spare time for decorating, but I squeezed some in this year.... :D

Also, fireworks, we get to have our own display at camp, right in our sports field.  All the family campers, staff, and some friends, and neighbors gather and watch the beautiful display reminding us of our freedom.
Quickly had fun making a flag fruit pizza!
Swirl cupcake project!

Warm days, cool treats...

Well, I really don't have much photography time now, since I'm up at camp for the summer.  I felt like blogging, and thought you'd all like to see something-anything, so I decided to use an old picture. I took this picture back in February, using the fake sunlight method. :)

So, this isn't really ice cream...just so ya know. ;)  Its actually frozen greek yogurt.  I took plain greek yogurt and added sweetner, vanilla, and crushed up strawberries.  Froze it for a few hours, mixed it for several minutes, and yummmm what a delicious, healthy treat!

Justin and Beka

Well May 28th was their big day...I spent most of the day taking photos at a wedding, Beka's wedding. I've known Beka since well, since before I can remember, back when we were both little girls. :)  I was excited to be taking pictures for her big day.  And I enjoyed every minute of the day!

Justin and Beka decided to do a 'First Look'.  That was a beautiful and happy moment!  I think it was such a grand idea!

Here's some of the shots from their big day...

April showers bring May flowers...

I love May flowers...beauty, softness, colors, light...ahh May, what a wonderful month! (Its also my birthday month which just makes me like it all the more!)

I've been super busy lately, not many pictures at all :(
But I just NEEDED to take some photos...something calm and beautiful a midst the chaos of my life.  So I spent a while doing just that before supper, then a bit after supper editing them...here we go!

So I decided to buy some limes since they were ten cents each....
I had quite a bit of fun trying to photograph them!  It was much harder than I though it would be!
Now I was going to make some cool lime recipe...but never did.  I think the limes would have made a much better prop than they did subject!
But, here's a few lime photos for you all to enjoy!

A little more food photography...

Well, I'm kinda stuck on food photography nowadays!  Its so much fun! :D  (And really, the weather is so nasty, and spring is not arriving, so there's not much outside to use as subjects!)

Today I made a few dozen deviled eggs to bring to a bible study I'm attending tomorrow.
I took these pictures around 4:30 or 5 pm, on our kitchen counter which has a south facing window.  It turned out to be great lighting!
I forgot to use our reflector board-had it right beside me but still forgot! Guess I got a little caught up in the moment!  I was very happy with the overall set up.

Nobody else was trying to cook or clean in the kitchen, so I had free reign! That made the entire process quite a bit faster! :D

I wanted a crisp clear photo of the egg, with other eggs in the background.  I wanted to portray deliciousness, creaminess, and have a 'fresh' look.  I picked up some fresh parsley today to help give it that 'fresh' look, and also a pop of color.  ($0.68 a bunch-totally worth it!)

I did a combined version of two of my favorites.  (I narrowed it down to three, then couldn't decide so I had Lillian point out which she's like me to 'take away' :)  Even a four year old's opinion can help!

I'm not sure though, if I like the 2 photos side-by-side better, or just the single photo.  I enjoy the modern look of side-by-sides, but feel like its a lot of...eggs?  But I also like it portraying two different angles.  I decided to post it, as well as a single photo though, since I can't decide which is better!

PS I actually wrote this post yesterday, but the internet crashed right before I could upload the photos...So these eggs were already consumed :D
